  • Module 2: The Research topic, literature review, intellectual property and ethics
  • Module 3: Conceptualising research – The research problem and research approaches
  • Module 4: Quantitative and qualitative research designs
  • Module 5: Data sources, data collection and sampling
  • Module 6: A & 6B: Processing, analysing and interpreting data
  • Module 7: The final research report

On successful completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Describe and discuss research methodology, roles and relationships and skills required for high-quality research.
  • Discuss the research topic, literature review, intellectual property, intellectual honesty, plagiarism, and research ethics.
  • Identify and formulate a research problem and choose the best research approach to address your research problem.
  • Explore quantitative and qualitative research designs.
  • Explore data sources, data collection methods, and instruments, and pilot these instruments.
  • Assess research quality and the different aspects of qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Identify different types of research reports and know how to structure a report and plan your research.
